More than 500 foreign buyers from more than 40 countries attended the fair held at Merinos Atatürk Congress Cultural Centre. In the fair, two separate Development of International Competitiveness (UR-GE) Projects carried out by BTSO for the textile sector through the Commercial Safari Project were, also presented. In cooperation with UTIB, foreign business professionals held bilateral business meetings with the participating companies. The opening cocktail of Bursa Textile Show Fair, which has become one of the brand fairs of the sector, was held with the participation of prominent personalities of the city.

BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay said in his speech that as BTSO, they carry out important projects in terms of opening companies to the world. Noting that the fair activities carried out by the Chamber are one of the export-oriented projects, Burkay said, “We are organising Bursa Textile Show Fair for the 8th time. Our fair undertakes an important mission to strengthen Bursa’s position as a production and export centre. Together with UTIB, we are making an important cooperation in order to maintain the power of Bursa and Turkish textile in the world market. Bursa Textile Show Fair has become one of the leading fairs in its field. Bursa strengthens its position as the centre where trends and fashion are determined day by day. This is very valuable and important.”

Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat stated that Bursa Textile Show Fair added strength to the exports of the sector, and he added :
“An exciting fair was organised. We have seen here how high quality and brand products our business people from Bursa produce and how they address the world market. As İbrahim Burkay, President of BTSO, said; Bursa Textile Show Fair, which is a brand for Bursa, is moving to a new area with increasing demand. Moving BURTEX to the fair centre is an appropriate decision. I wish that the organisation will be instrumental in new business connections for the companies. I would like to thank BTSO, UTIB and our fair committee for the organisation.”

UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin said, “It is really a very good news that the next Bursa Textile Show Fair will be held at the International Fair Centre. This fair was organised with a good strategy. In fact, the aim is not to organise a fair for the fair, but to organise a fair for the companies. Therefore, I consider that it is very valuable to start with this strategy. It was a fair where the buyers needed by the companies here came. In Bursa, we have a textile history encoded in our DNA and in our culture. The textile industry is so well positioned in Bursa that we are in a city where all stages of the supply chain take place. The Turkish textile industry is a sector that makes incredibly fast decisions and takes quick action. I hope that our fair will be good for our sector.”
