(Seoul, South Korea – March 28th, 2025) – ShinWon Corporation (CEO: JJ Park), a leading global apparel manufacturer, has officially joined the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), becoming only the second Korean vendor to do so—a rare milestone that underscores South Korea’s influence in global fashion.

This strategic move positions ShinWon to deepen partnerships with existing clients while unlocking opportunities through AAFA’s expansive network. The membership also signals the company’s intensified focus on advancing its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, solidifying its presence as a responsible global player. ShinWon plans to drive measurable impact across key areas of sustainable business, including ethical sourcing, eco-conscious production, and corporate social responsibility—aligning its practices with international standards.

CEO JJ Park began engaging with AAFA last November by participating in the Social Compliance Committee meeting held in Virginia, USA. Invited as a representative of a supplier operating in Guatemala, Park shared ShinWon’s efforts to support women workers through education and career development programs. His remarks emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility in promoting worker welfare and gender equity across the global supply chain.

“Our mission is to cultivate a fair labor environment and champion gender equality throughout our global operations. Through AAFA and the RISE initiative, ShinWon will strengthen its sustainability efforts while contributing to collective progress in ethical fashion,” said JJ Park.

On March 25, ShinWon hosted its first-ever Compliance Management Declaration Ceremony at its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. During the event, the company reviewed its year-long ESG initiatives and presented a strategic roadmap to institutionalize corporate ethics. This roadmap includes concrete actions such as human rights management, anti-corruption protocols, ethical business conduct, and fair trade policies.

ShinWon also introduced training programs and internal reporting systems to promote compliance awareness throughout the organization.

Meanwhile, ShinWon’s export division operates 13 subsidiaries across five countries, including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the United States, with approximately 30,000 employees working in its production facilities. The company has obtained SBTi certification for its carbon reduction and net-zero targets and continues to advance its ESG framework through annual sustainability reports and environmental initiatives.
