Kennesaw, GA, USA – 25. July 2023 – INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand announces the appointment of Ruud Vermeij as European Business Development Manager CORDURA® Brand. In this role, Vermeij will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for growing the CORDURA® Consumer business in Europe for all segments in the consumer market including workwear and active outdoor apparel as well as extending the CORDURA® brand business in new applications.
Before this role, Vermeij worked on various consultancy projects, mainly related to advising companies in the apparel and sporting goods industry on a wide scope of topics related to doing business in Europe. Also Vermeij previously held the role of General Manager Europe at Brixton Europe BV, Amsterdam, privately-owned manufacturer of headwear and apparel. From 2006-2016, he was Product Director EMEA at Sole Technology Europe BV, Amsterdam. Prior to that Vermeij launched Vans Benelux as Country Manager Vans Benelux / VF Corporation.
Vermeij brings a wealth of knowledge of merchandising and production, brand management and sales management to his new role from various management positions in the fashion, sportswear and lifestyle industry. Vermeij studied International Management at HES Amsterdam (HEAO).
