There are many famous and large textile companies in the world, there is always a curiosity in our mind to know what are most famous textile companies. Or which are the top textile mills in the world? Or which are the largest textile manufacturers in the world? Here, in this article, I have prepared a list of a few of the top textile companies in the world, perhaps in my next article, I shall have another list.
Toray Industries, Japan
Started in 1926 as a business producing rayon yarn, Toray Industries is a multi-conglomerate company, apart from other businesses, their textile business combines fibers, textiles, and apparel.

For fibers, their major focus is on three synthetic fibers – nylon, polyester and acrylic. In recent years, they have also turned their attention to developing environmentally friendly products such as those made from biomass-delivered sources and recycled materials. They have recently launched a high-quality product known as “& + TM” recycled fiber made from used plastic bottles. For fabrics, they manufacturers silky polyester fabric, non-woven and woven fabric, perspiration-absorbing quick-drying new fabric, bi-component stretch fabric, lightweight and compact nylon and polyester woven fabric, antibacterial knitted textile, flame retardance & stretch fabric and many more. For apparel, they have a range of single-use protective clothing, apparel for sports, medical use, work and many more. With 300+ subsidiaries/affiliates globally, their total employee strength is around 50000, they have a global presence with facilities in over 30 countries. Toray is a stock listed company in Japan and their revenue in March 2023 was 2489.3 billion yen.
Shenzhou International, China
Found in 2005, Shenzhou International Group has about 90000 employees now in total from their various offices and production facilities. The company is engaging in the manufacturing and sale of knitwear products, one of the largest vertical integrated mills in China, it provides customized fabrics, dyeing, finishing, printing, embroidery, cutting, sewing, etc. Their production facilities are located in China, Vietnam, Japan, and Cambodia, with a production capacity of more than 200000 tons of high-end knitted fabrics and about 500 million pieces of knitted garments an annum. The company is listed on the HK stock exchange, and its revenue in 2023 was US$4.1 billion.
Arvind Ltd., India
Arvind Ltd. Established in 1897, is one of the biggest textile companies in India, with an employee strength of about 50000+ and an annual turnover of around INR7500 Cr, a stock-listed company in India. The company is one of the biggest vertically integrated setups, they also manage retail stores and also manages 15 international brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, U.S. Polo, C.K., Sephora, and so on, Arvind is the largest producer of fire protection fabric in India. It has been a pioneer of the denim revolution in India since the early 1980s. Arvind Ltd. It is one of the largest knit fabric manufacturers in India with a capacity of around 12000 T per annum and a garmenting capacity of around 20 pieces per annum.
Nishat Mills Ltd, Pakistan
Established in 1951, Nishat Mills is one of the largest vertically integrated textile companies in Pakistan. They have in-house spinning, weaving, garmenting, finishing, and home textiles. The company is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, with revenue of around Rs. 141,756,469. Their spinning production capacity is 270 tons per day, the weaving division’s production capacity is around 30 million sq. meters per month, and the fabric processing capacity produces 104 million meters of fabric per annum. Their home textile division production capacity is around 24 million meters per month, garment manufacturing capacity is around 14.40 million garments per annum, and the bath manufacturing division has a capacity of 2.1 million towels pcs and 25000 bathrobes.
Eurojersey SpA, Italy
Founded in 1960, Eurojersey has a fully integrated production plant, from knitting to dyeing, finishing and printing. The company is one of the top players in the sector of Italian-made warp knit fabrics, they have their patented range called Sensitive® Fabrics, supplying to major brands for intimate apparel, swimwear, sportswear, etc., production capacity is around 15 million meters per annum and annual revenue around 100 million US$.
